Activision and Vivendi Leave ESA
Activision, Vivendi discontinue ESA membership on GamesIndustry.biz has word
that both Activision and Vivendi have parted ways with
The Entertainment Software Association, the
video game trade group. They have statements from the ESA and Activision, with
Activision saying: "We appreciate the work that the ESA has done over the years
in promoting the interactive entertainment industry with state and federal
governments and wish the ESA best of luck with the show."
Kotaku has word that a number of other developers, including NCsoft and id
Software, will eschew this years E3, though they remain ESA members. They quote
industry sources who indicate that this may be related to displeasure with the
leadership of ESA president Mike Gallagher.
