TF2 Update Next Week, No Portal 2 this Year
Steam marketing message has word that Steam will be the exclusive online
distributer of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky, that they are now selling an
arcade-style shooter called Bullet Candy, and that the Team Fortress 2
update including the new Goldrush map and new medic achievements is expected
next week. In other Valve-related news,
Eurogamer
has word not to expect Portal 2 this year, not that we knew of any such
expectation. They have word from Doug Lombardi: "I think that when you hit
something like that, you have two choices: you can quickly replicate it and
stick it out there - do the opportunistic thing and cash in on it; or you can do
the crazy thing like we did after Half-Life was so successful and go off and try
and say, 'Okay, that was revolutionary, so its successor has to be equally as
revolutionary.'"
