Gold Sales Lawsuit
Video game fan asks court to ban real sloth and greed from World of Warcraft
outlines a lawsuit brought by a World of Warcraft player against IGE over
virtual gold sales. According to plaintiff Antonio Hernandez virtual gold sales
hurt the game's economy. According to defendant IGE, he has now right to sue
because players have no actual ownership of property, the defendant is failing
to demonstrate damages, before they go one to once again assert they have
departed the gold-selling business, something that seems to be patently false
based on the gold ads on their website (which we will not link to). The story
notes that Hernandez has one major ally in his effort: World of Warcraft
developer Blizzard Entertainment.
