LG Portable External DVD Rewriter

This portable DVD writer from LG is one of the slimmest I’ve seen so far. With a maximum read and write speed of just 8x, it should be enough to suffice the occasional need to hook up a netbook to an external optical drive.
One of the items I enumerated earlier on my post about “How would you extend the netbook?” was an equally portable and lightweight external optical media drive.

Weighs about 380 grams and is only 21mm thick. The MSI Wind and the LG drive’s combined weight is almost the same as that of an Asus Eee PC 1000H. The dimensions though would have occupied over half the my MSI Wind. It’s a handy external drive which you can bring along on long trips where you’d anticipate you’ll need it and at the same time can just leave at home on regular days.
Priced just over Php4,000 though so it’s a bit expensive.
