The Demoman's Intelligent Design
Website has an interesting look at the way the character design for the
Demoman character evolved over the course of development of the teamplay shooter
sequel. They describe a brief period they were looking to achieve a Claymation
look for the game as well as a number of different potential designs that fit
the stylized look TF2 eventually took on.
