Video Games Contribute to Pro Tennis Split
Brad Gilbert admits poor relationship with Andy Murray but backs Scot for
success follows-up on a split between Andy Murray, the number-one ranked
tennis player in the UK, and Brad Gilbert, an American tennis coach who has
contributed to the success of Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick. Gilbert comments on
the reasons behind his firing, indicating their frequent arguments were a
primary cause, but he also mentions a generation gap, twice referencing Murray's
love of video games, saying: "And then he plays video games seven hours a day.
So if he is not playing video games or playing tennis, he is with his
girlfriend." He follows this up by saying: "He lives a quiet relaxed life,
focused on being a tennis player. But he is obsessed with video games. I don’t
play video games."
